Losing Face

Stricken with envy as I watched you from far away
The bar room stopped no sounds in all else was gray
I felt the hunger in your glare
Our eyes in tango in the darkness
Miserable days haunt me while in seclusion from your caress
And there you flaunted your freedom
In independence of a man's embrace
I knew you were angry
Running madly in vengeance of a hurtful lash
In I losing face
A soul bleeding and weeping
Purple scars sashing your skin of rose petals and jasmine
How long will this battle last?
Till the wounds are rotten, and everyone come to love you dead, all dead again
Buried, misbegotten their memory lost and their company long forgotten
Oh treasured bud of passion, my delicate friend
Your eternal sorrow I would shoulder, to kiss your lips again
You mean more to me than the nectar to a flower an April shower brings
In perpetual limbo is my heart without you; dying in anguish from desire
Dying and reminiscent; a lonely liar, forever will in my ears ring
You are the trail left behind a shooting star
You are the harp's whisper left behind to shelter listeners long and far
In your eye's unmerciful stare
I am left weeping
Because for you, I really did care
